These terms apply when you claim or manage a funeral director listing on fairfunerals.co.uk (“Fair Funerals”, “we”, “us”). Email: fairfuneralsuk@gmail.com.
By starting or completing a claim, you agree to these terms. Our Privacy notice explains how we use personal data.
You may claim a listing only if you are:
You must use a work email tied to the business where reasonably possible (for example a domain matching the business website). If you only have a shared or personal inbox that is published as the business contact, we may ask for extra proof.
Claimed (or owner-confirmed) means you have completed our claim process so you can manage the listing and suggest corrections. It is not:
Verified profile (or any public “Verified” mark) is not included in free Claim. That status is reserved for a possible later paid product with separate terms. Completing Claim does not entitle you to a public Verified mark.
To claim (and to keep a claim) you must:
We may also ask for other reasonable proof (for example Companies House details, letterhead, or confirmation from a published business contact). We may refuse or reverse a claim if proof is inadequate or conflicts with other evidence.
We may show statuses such as:
We may change labels for clarity, but we will not present Claimed as Verified.
Claim gives access to a dashboard to suggest updates to allowlisted fields only (we decide the list; it may include contact details, description text, logos, and similar profile fields).
Price and CMA standardised price list (SPL) data:
We are not obliged to publish every suggested change.
You warrant that:
You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, and adapt your submitted content (including name, trading name, logo, and profile text) on Fair Funerals and in related communications about your listing (for example claim confirmation emails).
You keep ownership of your content. You can ask us to remove content you supplied when you unclaim, subject to our need to keep records and any content we must retain by law.
Fair Funerals is a comparison and information site. We are not a funeral director and we do not arrange funerals. Contracts for funeral services are between families and you (or other providers), not us.
We may source prices and details from public CMA standardised price lists and other public sources. Claim does not make us responsible for your services or for families’ choices.
We may suspend or remove a claim, listing privileges, or content if we reasonably believe:
We will try to email the address on the claim before or when we suspend, unless urgent harm prevention requires faster action.
You may unclaim via the dashboard or by emailing us from the verified address. After unclaim, public Claimed/owner-confirmed labelling is removed; the underlying public listing may remain as Unclaimed.
To transfer a claim to another authorised person, contact us from the verified email. We may require fresh email verification and proof.
If we provide badge HTML, any link back to your Fair Funerals listing is optional, uses rel="nofollow" (or equivalent), and is not required to complete Claim. Including or removing that link does not create a Verified status.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or other liability that cannot be limited by law.
Subject to that, we provide the claim tools and site as is. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of business arising from Claim or listing display. Our total liability arising under these terms in any 12-month period is limited to £100 (or, if you later pay us fees under separate terms, the fees you paid us for that product in that period).
We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date will change. Material changes will be notified by email to verified claim addresses or by a notice in the dashboard where practical. Continued use of Claim after changes means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may seek injunctive relief anywhere.
